Laura-Jane (LJ) is a proud First Nations woman from the Quandmooka and Wiradjuri nations who lives and works on the Kulin Nations.

LJ has an extensive history of working with womxn in the field of family/domestic violence, sexual assault, and transgenerational trauma. She is a Counsellor and Indigenous healing practitioner who works from an anti-oppressive and intersectional perspective, emphasising the importance of the client-therapist relationship.
Drawing on her connection to country and cultural knowledge, LJ cultivates a curious and nurturing environment where the complexities of trauma can be safely addressed. She creates a culturally safe, trauma-informed space that promotes wisdom and knowledge through traditional healing practices and ways of sharing, caring, and renewal.
First Nations healing practices acknowledge the impacts of historical trauma or a cumulative intergenerational socio-psychological trauma caused by experiences of colonisation and colonial pain. These practices recognise that social and emotional wellbeing is a dynamic balance between inter-connected domains of the body, mind and emotions, family and kinship, community, culture, country, and spirituality.

LJ is sex-positive, LBGTQIA+ friendly, sex-worker friendly, and dedicated to providing a culturally safe and inclusive practice.
I acknowledge that I live and work on the lands of the people of the Kulin Nations and that sovereignty was never ceded. I pay my respect to our Elders past, present, and emerging. Furthermore, I acknowledge and respect that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is the older living culture in the world, and First Nations cultural practice wisdom provides me with the strength required to provide these services – Healing is not linear, rather is a journey and my ancestors’ knowledge have provided me with the connection to country and culture needed to support those to take their first steps.
